Chinese medicine.

The pain that we so fervantly feared was Something Awful has been diagnosed as a pinched nerve and on the trip "back east" we had six acupunture treatments - three for our knee and three for the Something Awful pain. Our knee is so much better than it was before the injury - both knees are excellent now and there has been a lot of celebratory running up of stairs.

The Something Awful pain is less of a bother now that we know it doesn't actually mean much - it is misplaced pain - a mistake. It is not telilng us anything real. And it's much less now, after acupuncture, and I have exercises for it that are working well.

I (Trouble) love our Chinese doctor. He's not allowed to call himself a doctor, but he is much more like a true healer than any western doctor I know. We adore him. After all, he is Mr Takes The Pain Away.

Hah.

I'm so glad to hear it. We've had pinched nerves before and they can be awful. I wish my medical insurance paid for acupuncture!

we don't have medical insurance (but that doesn't have the same consequences as it does in the states - state systems are generally pretty good) but our acupuncture is very reasonablely priced - it's not much more than a really expensive haircut per session. So, very easily worth it.
